Tavares, FL (November 17, 2025) - All offices of the City of Tavares will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, in observance of Thanksgiving Day. Offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, December 1.

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27
- There will be no pickup of garbage, brush, or recycling on Thursday, Nov. 27. Thursday's garbage will be picked up on Monday, Dec. 1, and brush will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 4. Thursday's recycling will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 28, along with Friday's recycling.
Day After Thanksgiving, Friday, Nov. 28
- There will be no pickup of garbage or brush on Friday, Nov. 28. Friday's Garbage will be picked up on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and brush will be picked up on Friday, Dec. 5. Friday's recycling will be picked up as normal.
The Tavares Public Library, and the book drop, will be closed from Thursday, Nov. 27 - Saturday, Nov. 29.
