Ongoing Programs
- Frayed Knot Knit and Crochet Club every Tuesday at 10: a.m. All are welcome, from beginners to advanced and everyone in between are invited to come and work on your current project or begin a new one with other stitchers in the Library Programming Area.
- Page Turners Book Club meets on the fourth Tuesday every month. New readers are welcome to join the lively discussion. Please contact the library for the selected book.
- Coffee and a Chat the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. in the Library Programming Area. Listen to a featured presenter, followed by coffee and a discussion. Sponsored in partnership with LovExtension.

Paper monthly calendars are available in an easy to read at-a-glance format at the Tavares Public Library 314 N. New Hampshire Avenue. Paper calendars may be picked up during regular library business hours Monday and Thursday 9:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.; Saturday 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Concerts
All concerts take place at 12:30 p.m. in the Library Expansion Programming Area unless otherwise indicated. Concerts will resume in December.
Gardening Series
All programs in this series are at 2:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. This gardening series, led by experts from the UF/IFAS Extension, will help you develop a greener thumb and keep your landscape neat and healthy.
- Invasive Plants November 19, 2025 Learn about invasive plant species in Florida to help protect your landscape as well as the state's natural areas.
Exhibits
- Seeds of Knowledge Library Demonstration Garden This grant was awarded by the Florida Wildflower Foundation to six public libraries in Florida of which the City of Tavares Public Library is one. The library has established a native wildflower garden in Ridge Park at the Palm Circle behind the library. In collaboration with Master Gardeners from the UF/IFAS Lake County Extension Center, over 50 native species have been planted. Each plant is labeled and equipped with QR codes for easy access to identification and information. Learn more about Florida's unique and beautiful wildflowers and pick up wildflower seed packets at the main circulation desk in the library to start your own native wildflower garden.
- Bookish Besties Classic characters from children's and young adult literature is on display on the library's WallTalker.
