Have Lots of Fun @ the Library
The Youth Room offers a wide range of programs and special events throughout the year. Make sure to ask Ms. Valerie for more information the next time you visit. You do not want to miss any of the new and fun events that are coming!Computers
The Youth Room has an ipad Krayon Kiosk full of fun and educational games for children as well as 2 computers with Internet, Microsoft Office Excel, Powerpoint, Word and library catalog access for youth ages 12 and under and their parents. - Tiny Tykes Storytime on Wednesday every week at 10:00 a.m. in the Library Programming Area.
- Sensory Playtime : Tiny Tykes in Motion every Monday 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in the Library Programming Area.
- Spanish Storytime meets in the programming area at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17 and in 2026 on January 23, April 17 and July 24. Perfect for Spanish-speaking families and those who want to learn a new language. No prior knowledge of the language needed. Led by children' author Gato Cuentero (Sandra Gil) Designed for children ages 2-7.
- Jack-be-Little Pumpkin Decorating Thursday, October 23 at 4:30 p.m. Get creative this Halloween and decorate your Jack-be-Little mini pumpkin. Registration required
Reading Incentives
- 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Take the challenge and win stickers, tee shirts, medals and more!
- 500 Books Before Middle School Children grades K-5 can log their reading through Beanstack and earn digital badges along the way. Are you up to the challenge? Do you prefer a paper log? Pick one up at the City of Tavares Public Library. Track your books and, upon completion, receive a Certificate of Completion to show your achievement!
