Tavares Nature Preserve – Temporary Closure Notice
Due to a recent historical rainfall event, the Tavares Nature Preserve is temporarily closed to the public.
As part of its natural process, the preserve’s sponge-like soil is absorbing and filtering the excess rainwater into the Florida Aquifer. To ensure this process occurs safely and naturally, we are giving the area time to recover before reopening to visitors.
We will provide updates and announce when the preserve is safe to reopen.
