Publix Serves Tavares – Wednesday, April 8th, 7:00 AM until Noon, at the new Public Works Operations Center on Captain Haynes Road.

🌱

Nearly 100 Publix associates from District 35 (Lake & Orange counties) will come together for a powerful day of community service as part of the Publix Serves initiative. Teaming up with the Tavares Department of Public Works, volunteers will plant native trees and aquatic plants around the urban ponds at the new Public Works Operations Center on Captain Haynes Road.

Publix, proudly rooted in Florida since 1930, continues to inspire through meaningful community engagement. These plantings will support local ecosystems, enhance public spaces, and create a peaceful, shady retreat for visitors. 🌿🌺🐦

A big thank you to the MyFWC Florida Fish and Wildlife for bringing in an educational experience and a fun, hands-on fishing day on Wednesday, April 8th, from 7:00 AM until Noon! It is a perfect preview of what's to come with the Fish' N Fly Tavares youth fishing program launching this fall, with dates to be announced soon. 🎣

Together, these efforts reflect the heart of the America in Bloom program—beautifying spaces, enriching lives, and strengthening community spirit in America's Seaplane City. 💚
