The City of Tavares is proud to announce we received a $26,000 grant from the Florida Forest Service to participate in a program to reduce fuel loads in areas adjacent to communities. This mitigation activity within the Tavares Nature Park will include mowing and mulching vegetation and trees with up to a 4” caliper (no prescription burn scheduled at this time). A border will still be in place to deter vehicles from entering the park. Tavares Nature Park will be closed from 4/11/2024 through 4/21/2024 while this work is performed.
