Tavares, FL (November 4, 2025) - The City of Tavares invites residents and visitors to join in a weekend of history and celebration as part of the city's 145th Anniversary observance.
On Saturday, November 8, the Union Congregational Church will host walking tours of downtown, led by local historian Rick Cronin, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Tavares History Museum. The Tavares History Museum is located at 305 E Ruby St, Tavares, FL 32778. Visitors attending the nearby Art Show at Wooton Park are encouraged to stop by the museum for a look back at Tavares' storied past.
"Both our historical team and the wonderful people at Union Congregational have been working hand-in-hand to make this a weekend to remember," said Councilmember Bobby Grenier, who has coordinated the event. "It's a true community effort that showcases our history and the great partnerships that make Tavares special".
All City of Tavares residents and visitors are invited to participate in the activities throughout the weekend.
