[ARCHIVED] Boil Water Notice - Lightning Strike Causes Water Main Damage

Image of boil-water-notice

UPDATE: July 30, 10:49 p.m.

Due to two broken 2" water mains, water service has been temporarily interrupted for residents of 715-1869 Banning Beach Rd., Reserve Dr., Lake Crest Ln., Lake Crest Dr., Shorewood Dr., and Shorewood Ct.

Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.

Crews are actively working to restore service as soon as possible. This precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until bacteriological surveys show the water is safe to drink. When the precautionary boil water notice is lifted, affected residents will be notified in the same manner as they received the original notice.

For questions or concerns, please contact the City of Tavares Water Department at (352) 742-6222.
