[ARCHIVED] PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE Residents of 205-404 W Delaware St., Virginia Ct., Maine; Carolina

Boil Water Notice

8/26/25  PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE

TO: Residents of 205 through 404 W Delaware St., all of Virginia Ct., all of Carolina Ct., and all of Maine Ct.

Due to a broken 2” main, the water had to be shut off, causing service to be interrupted. Therefore, as a precaution we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes be boiled.  A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient.  As an alternative, bottled water may be used. Service will be restored as soon as possible.

This “PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE” will remain in effect until bacteriological surveys show that the water is safe to drink. When the precautionary boil water notice is lifted, affected residents will be notified in the same manner as they received the original notice.

If you have any questions, you may contact the City of Tavares Water Department at (352) 742-6222.
