WEDNESDAY MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
As your Mayor, I want to assure you the city is prepared for the landfall of Hurricane Milton. Please stay indoors. Now is the time to hunker down. The safety of our residents, businesses, and employees is always our number one priority. If you are in a mobile home, please seek shelter in our many shelters throughout the county.
· Lake County has opened 15 shelters for those who need accommodations during the storm. The nearest shelter to Tavares is Tavares High School, located at 603 N. New Hampshire Ave. Residents are encouraged to bring necessary supplies such as medication, bedding, and a pet carrier or crate.
